Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - His good, pleasing, and perfect will."

Being one who is “mechanically-challenged,” I marvel at the way the staff from Habitat can take an abandoned, unlivable house and transform it into a beautiful home. The houses are completely changed. The old house is gutted, ripped up, and cleaned out, and before long, a new place has come.

We thank God for this ministry! God’s work with houses at Habitat is a great illustration of what also needs to happen inside us. We need to be transformed. We desperately need God to do a miraculous work in our hearts. He needs to change us, ripping out the old, and replacing it with the new.

When we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the lengths God went to in order to bring about transformation in us - He sent His Son to a cross and raised Him from the dead, to pay the debt we owe because of our sin. Just as Christ was raised to life on the third day, so we can be through faith in him. And we continue to need him to transform us from the inside out so that we can live for Him, right here in Sandtown. May God continue to transform this community - inside and out.
