What is New Song Community Church? As Pastor Thurman always says, "We are a congregation of broken, messed up people that God loves anyway". We are a Church that exists by God's grace and understand fully that grace received is grace to be given away.

New Song is committed to glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ and proclaiming the Good News of His Kingdom in our neighborhood of Sandtown-Winchester as a part of His Church here. In obedience to the Biblical mandate for righteousness and reconciliation, New Song seeks to build relationships across racial and economic barriers, to confront injustice, and to empower the people of the Sandtown community. The foundation for this calling is Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, realizing that “He himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14).

With the conviction that Christ has obligated the church to serve in the city for the city, that people with hope can change their neighborhoods and can live together and serve with dignity, New Song seeks to foster ministries which promote the physical and spiritual health of the neighborhood. To accomplish this mission, New Song actively pursues wholistic ministries such as housing renovation, health care, job training, youth outreach, and educational enrichment for children and youth. Our commitment is to evangelism, discipleship, and empowerment through servanthood in imitation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
